About Me:
My name is Bernard Ritchey but everyone calls me Bernie, this is a blog about my walk with Jesus, how it’s changed my life and kept me going during tough times!
A little about me, I am a son of the Most High God, I was the husband to an Angil but she went home to the Lord on December 19, 2015, I am a father to 5 and some of the most important people in the world call me grandpa!
I was brought up in a “religious” home and as far back as I can remember I have been a believer in Jesus Christ. But in 2008 my life started changing, people started speaking truth into my life and I realized that being a “believer” just isn’t enough, James 2:19 says “You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.”
So since then, I’ve been on a path to search out the truth. I wanted to understand exactly who God created me to be, what His plan was for my life, who He expects me to be and how I am expected to lead my family. In the process I came to understand that it isn’t about religion, rules, regulations, and traditions, it’s about a relationship with Him that brings a peace that transcends all understanding. So for the better part of the last 7 years, I’ve done my best to let my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ lead me, my life and my family. I spend time in His word and try to be a faithful follower and not just a believer. Don’t get me wrong, this doesn’t mean I’m perfect, or that I even think I’m close to perfect, no I just realize that when I fail, I am forgiven and exactly what the price was for that forgiveness.
I now attempt to walk the walk and be salt and light, but I am still human, flawed and broken, but through the Blood of my Savior, Jesus Christ, I can rise above my brokenness and be the husband, father, grandfather and spiritual leader of my family that I am supposed to be!
If you are, where I was, knowing that something is missing, knowing that “religion” isn’t it and wanting a relationship with Him, leave a comment or send me a message from the contact page, I would love to talk to you.
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. – 1 Corinthians 15:58
